IPS Inaugurates 1 MWp PV-to-Heat Industrial Steam Plant at Al Khair Chicken in Mafraq

Project milestone · Mafraq, Jordan · September 28, 2026

From solar electricity to industrial steam: Industrial Power for Energy Solutions (IPS) proudly celebrates the official inauguration of its 1 MWp PV-to-Heat plant at the Khairat Al-Shamal – Al Khair Chicken feed factory in Mafraq, Jordan.

The IPS plant forms the industrial heating component of a 2 MW integrated solar energy project serving the facility, demonstrating how renewable electricity can support both power generation and the thermal needs of industrial production.

A Milestone for Industrial Solar Heating in Jordan

The official inauguration took place on Monday, September 28, 2026, under the patronage and in the presence of H.E. Dr. Saleh Al-Kharabsheh, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources. The ceremony was attended by Eng. Ziad Al-Saaideh, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission, and Dr. Khayro Arsheed Al-Arqan Al-Mashaagbeh, Chairman of Khairat Al-Shamal and Al Khair Chicken, alongside representatives of Jordan’s energy and industrial sectors.

At the center of this achievement is the PV-to-Heat system implemented by IPS. With an installed capacity of 1 MWp, the plant uses photovoltaic-generated electricity for industrial boiler heating, enabling a steam production capacity of up to 1.35 tonnes per hour. This is a practical demonstration of solar power being put to work directly in an industrial process.

Engineering Solar Energy for Real Industrial Processes

For IPS, this milestone represents more than new installed solar capacity. It reflects our core engineering approach: bringing renewable energy into industrial heating applications where reliable, useful heat is essential to day-to-day operations.

Through PV-to-Heat technology, electricity generated by photovoltaic modules is converted into usable thermal energy for industrial applications, including steam generation and other process heating needs. Integrating this technology with existing industrial systems can help facilities reduce their dependence on conventional fuels and improve long-term energy resilience.

The wider project also includes a separate 1 MW solar photovoltaic electricity-generation plant implemented by Solaria Energy (Najm Al-Shamal), bringing the combined installed capacity to 2 MW. The two installations serve different, complementary energy requirements at the factory.

At IPS, we do more than generate renewable electricity. We engineer solutions that put clean energy to work at the heart of industrial production.

A Shared Commitment to More Sustainable Industry

This achievement is part of a broader commitment to practical industrial decarbonization: integrating renewable energy with the systems factories already rely on, supporting operational efficiency, and advancing more competitive and sustainable manufacturing in Jordan.

IPS extends its sincere appreciation to H.E. Dr. Saleh Al-Kharabsheh for his patronage of the inauguration, to the leadership and team of Khairat Al-Shamal – Al Khair Chicken for their trust and cooperation, to Solaria Energy, and to the engineers, technicians, contractors and project partners whose contributions made this milestone possible.

From concept and engineering to implementation and operation, IPS remains committed to delivering industrial energy solutions built for measurable, long-term value.
